It’s been a while since I’ve been here and written something. Stocked up with 12 credits a trimester and LSAT prep, so I’ve been a bit hassled. But, I’m back! I’m going to discuss briefly a little bit of everything-from Syria to the government shutdown. Syria Syria Syria, what a mess; after Egypt, it’s probably the most unstable country right now with internal issues. Big issues, since its own country is a threat-that’s pretty sick, sort of how Republicans feel about Obama, yeah like that but with REAL threat. Anyway, in order to understand Syria we must understand what is Syria. Syria is a Middle Eastern country with 90% Sunni (Muslim denomination) and 10% Shia (muslin denomination which run the country). Yeah, minority over majority. There are fractions inside the government and outside of it-no one really knows who was responsible for the nuclear weapons and why. (Feel free to comment on theories) So, United Nations and its Security Council composed of USA, Russia, France, UK and China are responsible to “keep order” around the world when the international law is violated and each of them negotiate with what to do about it. USA, agreed to do something about it, why? Well, Israel, Jordan and Egypt have a peace treaty – but they also have a treaty with the US, and a peace treaty is nothing more than a global recognition that a nation supports the other and vice versa. Syria presented a huge endangerment to all Middle East (mainly its neighbors, hence OUR neighbors) and so the US wanted to take action, as did France. China and Russia-not so much (hint: communism correlation). Luckily, all this was obliterated, the fact that there was to be a “no boots on the ground” war. Interestingly though, the Republicans were hostile to the idea completely but yet, the Iraq was far worse and they were all for it-not relevant but anyway, on to the next topic. Government SHUTDOWN! That was probably the most embarrassing and insulting action to us citizens and posed a humiliation to others-incapable to get into an agreement because of the fear of a universal health care that provides, once again, HEALTH CARE. Some use the defense that it’s a path to socialism and what not..so basically, if the country wasn’t socialist and agreed to take away inalienable rights it’s ok, because we are going against the “socialism” terror. It’s pretty sick and unexcusable. A “nation” who has the economic means to provide such service should and it’s in their right duty to – the fact that people are against this because it will “prejudice” jobs just shows how selfish and naive you are. Others claim that they are “funding” abortions and the “killing of babies” – well, for one. I believe you need to take a biology course and second ABORTIONS ARE NOT FUNDED THEY ARE PAID FOR INDIVIDUALLY. Other people’s defense is basically because Obama is black-which I have no reasoning to that except that you must be mentally frustrated. By the way, Obama wasn’t elected because of his skin color, that’s basically saying all people of skin are ignorant, hmm..a bit cynical? If Obama had won just because of his skin color-Herman Cain would have been running Congress! This concludes my mind twirling of opinions for these past weeks.

BUENO . . .
They had publicized vast, yet quick polls. One referring to Homosexual marriage and the other to the death penalty. Both exceeded the majority on the opposing side. I was in the living room, when he begins to ranter out in rage how that’s so unnatural and against God’s will, and that they don’t need any more rights than they already have. I of course, just sit in silent nod my head both ways. It wasn’t until he asked me what I would have voted for what would I choose – due to the fact that the man was an influential person in my life I couldn’t speak the truth – out of respect, so I answered in favor of him. But I did share my thoughts on the death penalty. I for one, am against the death penalty and murdering amnesty out of revenge – because that’s what it is, it isn’t a punishment, it’s a well organized corporation deal where you have to kill someone because they killed and costs well over a million dollars, it’s insane. How can one be punished by injecting a needle full of whatever chemical as they slowly fall asleep and die-PRISON is the real punishment. Do we really think the government sees this as justice, and not as some beneficial outcome out of it, seeing as it costs millions of dollars? Yeah, I don’t think so. Besides the fact that the Constitution clearly states against unusual punishments, and deprivation of life.. Also, I may be me wrong (but it’s my opinion) but I believe EVERY human being is entitled to a second chance in life, now I’m not saying let him out of his cell – but right there where he has to spend the rest of his life, a bit of change in character can happen. It sickens me how people are so quick to wish death on one because he killed someone or committed a crime – their rage overpowers their sense of logic and reasoning, it’s propestorous. Anyway, as the man and I discuss the topic, he confesses that he does believe that the death penalty is the solution to many problems. I was in awe; a very high-conservative well reserved man considers the death penalty correct “depending” on the situation. The amazing thing I grasped out of all this, is that he was also Pro-Life; that’s great, I respect your opinion towards that, but how can one be Pro-Life and Pro-Death Penalty? It must be pretty confusing to decide a certain situation when you don’t exactly know where you stand. I quickly opposed to the idea, and he answered with: “You say that because you have no kids, if you have a son and they kill him, you would want justice to act upon and have him killed.” That is when I asked him, what if one of your sons turned out to be Gay? He was speechless..I left the room and quickly began to write this blog.
“To take a life when a life has been lost is revenge, not justice.”
“The reality is that capital punishment in America is a lottery. It is a punishment that is shaped by the constraints of poverty, race, geography and local politics.”

Prensa Latina reports that more than 3 hundred people from the Caribbean region are being held in solitary confinement in about 30 penitentiaries in the United States. The most obvious problem is the practice of solitary confinement for long periods; in these cases, sensory deprivation is an important issue and may constitute torture.
The source quoted data from U.S. Immigration Service and Custom Control (ICE), highlighting that most prisoners remain in isolation for 15 days or more and around 35 have been there longer than 2 months. “ICE uses excessive force, since these are civilian detentions”, said Dr. Terry Kupers, a psychiatrist that studies solitary confinement at the Wright Institute. “The situation is even worse because many of them do not have lawyers and their families are afraid to complain,” he said.
Ernestine Fobs, ICE spokeswoman, backed up that policy and assured that immigrants are separated from the rest of…

North Korea still intends to conduct the country’s third nuclear test later this month, despite intense pressure from the United States and the international community. Seemingly unconcerned about threats of new sanctions, Kim Jong-un and his Generals stunned most sane human beings by releasing a YouTube Video that shows New York City engulfed in flames after a missile attack.
